Edgewater’s E Center will Showcase Soul, Rock and A Little Bit (of) Country Talent with Acclaimed Lineup Featuring The Temptations, Grand Funk Railroad and Marie Osmond

November 15, 2021

Laughlin, Nevada – (Nov. 15, 2021) – Edgewater Casino Resort’s E Center will host a timeless trio of concerts in early 2022, extending its impressive schedule of talent to include performances by The Temptations, Grand Funk Railroad and Marie Osmond. The legendary Temptations, who are celebrating their 60th Anniversary, will bring their signature blend of harmonies and choreography to the stage on Sunday, Jan. 16; Grand Funk Railroad will showcase its crowd-pleasing arena rock on Saturday, Jan. 29; while entertainment icon Marie Osmond will bring her timeless classic style to the stage on Saturday, Feb. 19.

The Temptations, often referred to as “American Music Royalty,” are world-renowned superstars of entertainment, revered for their phenomenal catalog of music and prolific career. Named the “#1 R&B/Hip Hop Artists of All Time” and one of the “125 Greatest of All Time Artists” by Billboard magazine, as well as one of the “100 Greatest Artists of All Time” by Rolling Stone Magazine, the group recently released a brand-new single, “Is It Gonna Be Yes or No,” a duet between the group and the equally legendary Smokey Robinson. Throughout the group’s evolution, The Temptations have produced 53 Billboard Hot 100 Hit singles, including four that became No. 1 pop singles: “My Girl,” “I Can’t Get Next to You,” “Just My Imagination,” and “Papa Was a Rollin’ Stone.” Additionally, they released 43 Top 10 R&B hit singles, 14 of which were No. 1 R&B hits, including timeless classics such as “Ain’t Too Proud to Beg,” “Beauty Is Only Skin Deep,” “I Wish It Would Rain,” and songs influenced by their funk/psychedelic soul sound including “Happy People,” and “Shakey Ground.” The Temptations are the recipients of numerous awards and honors, among them five GRAMMY Awards, including the Recording Academy’s Lifetime Achievement Grammy Award. The Broadway musical, Ain’t Too Proud: The Life and Times of The Temptations, based on the personal journey of Otis Williams, the founding and sole-surviving member of The Temptations, re-opened on October 16, 2021. The touring production of the Broadway musical is gearing up to tour to 60 cities, for the next two years, and will open at the Kennedy Center Opera House on December 15, 2021.

Known as “The American Band,” high-energy five-piece Grand Funk Railroad includes original founding members Don Brewer and bassist Mel Schacher; singer Max Carl; lead guitarist Bruce Kulick; and keyboardist Tim Cashion. Grand Funk Railroad laid the groundwork for such bands as Foreigner, Journey, Van Halen and Bon Jovi with its signature hard driving sound, soulful vocals, muscular instrumentation and forceful pop melodies. Through their career, Grand Funk has had 19 charted singles, eight Top 40 hits and two No. 1 singles in “We’re an American Band” and “Locomotion,” both selling more than one million each. The group has now accumulated 13 gold and 10 platinum records with record sales in excess of 25 million copies sold worldwide.

Marie Osmond has spent five conic decades in the entertainment business performing as a successful singer, television performer and talk show host, dancer, actor, author, entrepreneur, and public speaker. Her debut single, “Paper Roses,” reached the No. 1 spot on two Billboard charts, a feat that not only placed her among an elite class of musical royalty, but instantly catapulted her into international superstardom. She is a multiple gold and platinum selling artist and CMA winner, garnering numerous Billboard chart-topping singles and albums, and three New York Times Bestselling books. She has entertained millions throughout the world through television, radio, film, literature, live concerts and Broadway performances. Since Marie and brother Donny ended their 11-year residency at the Flamingo in November 2019, she travels the US with her sell-out Symphonic shows. Her performances receive rave reviews. Her Top 10 Billboard Magazine album “Music is Medicine” was the perfect set up for her latest “Unexpected” studio album…it may just be her most important studio release, encompassing a lifetime of experience, music, love, loss, hope and joy as a representation of her remarkable life.
