Aquarius Casino Resort and Edgewater Casino Resort Donate $7,500 to River Fund, Inc. to Support the Tri-State Region

May 10, 2022

Laughlin, Nev. – (May 10, 2022) – Aquarius Casino Resort, located at 1900 S. Casino Dr., and Edgewater Casino Resort, located at 2020 S. Casino Dr., hosted a virtual rummage sale to raise funds to support River Fund, Inc. a local non-profit agency providing direct emergency and crisis services for individuals and families in the tri-state region. Through the sale, the casino resorts raised $7,500 to donate to River Fund.

“All of us at Aquarius and Edgewater are honored to support the River Fund, an organization dedicated to supporting our neighbors that are in need,” said Sean Hammond, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Aquarius Casino Resort and Edgewater Casino Resort. “With the indefinite postponement of the Laughlin Chamber of Commerce Chef’s Food Fest, which is the main fundraiser for River Fund, we encouraged our team to come up with a unique way to support this great nonprofit, and we’re thrilled with how they were able come together to make this impactful donation.”

Team members at both casino resorts created and hosted a virtual rummage sale to raise funds for the local nonprofit organization. A variety of items were available for purchase through the fundraiser, and unsold items were donated to local thrift stores and other charities in the tri-state area. Aquarius and Edgewater team members have also had the opportunity to support the River Fund through direct donations each pay period throughout the pandemic and continue to support the employee crisis fund for Golden Entertainment Laughlin.

“My first reaction to the news of this very generous donation from the Laughlin Golden Entertainment properties was that of excitement and a renewed sense of relief in knowing that this could be the beginning of restoring our unrestricted funds that have been heavily relied upon since the beginning of the pandemic,” said Mike Conner, President and CEO of River Fund. “The team members at Aquarius and Edgewater Casino Resorts have been so generous to us since the start of the River Fund, never hesitating to support our programs and services designed to help locals in crisis. We sincerely appreciate this example of kindness and desire to help those members of our local communities that suffer unexpected hardships.”

“All of us at Aquarius and Edgewater are so thankful to be a part of this amazing community, and we’re so proud of the way our team members came together to host this creative fundraising initiative to support the River Fund,” said Dana Kissinger, Vice President of Casino Operations at Aquarius Casino Resort.
